We offer a range of bodywork treatments from reflexology through therapeutic massage, to neurochi energy work, and from sports/remedial massage to zen deep tissue therapy and trigger point therapy.
Therapeutic Massage
Traditional massage techniques to stimulate circulation, improve lymph drainage, ease muscle stiffness and promote physical and mental health.
Sports & Remedial Massage
Combinations of soft tissue and deep tissue massage to promote healing and muscle energy techniques to stretch and strengthen. Used to treat a variety of sports injuries and muscular problems; both recent and long-term.
Strain/Counterstrain Technique
Positioning techniques to release joint and muscle restriction. Not manipulation, just gentle releases; good for “disc” and joint adjustments.
Zen Deep Tissue Treatment
A series of treatments to bring the body closer to ideal alignment. Chronic postural problems can be significantly relieved, along with the pain and stiffness associated with them. The treatments also have a rejuvenating effect on the body’s connective tissue, improving both shape and general appearance.
Neurochi Technique
Healing energy touch and subtle spiralling techniques to balance Chi and release connective tissue, leading to a deeply relaxing and healing experience.
Myofascial Triggerpoint Releases
This therapy is backed by forty years of medical research and is relatively new to Ireland. Trigger points in the muscles are the cause of much chronic pain and neutralising them can give significant, long lasting relief.
Reflexology
A specific massage on the feet, which has a beneficial, stimulating effect on the whole body. The ideal therapy for digestive, hormonal and stress-related problems, but good for all of the body’s systems.
Thermo-Auricular Therapy
Ear candling can help sinusitis, migraine, infection, vertigo and tinnitus, as well as unblocking the ear, where there is a build-up of wax.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How long does a treatment take?
Generally, between 40-50 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?
That depends very much on the type of problem, its duration and its severity. However, even long-standing ailments tend to show improvement within 3 to 4 sessions, while more minor or recent ones may respond immediately.
Will my therapist be experienced and well-qualified?
The NHC was established in 1984 and all our therapists have at least ten years professional experience and hold qualifications in at least three therapies.
What sorts of problems do you treat?
We’ve had good results with a wide range of problems, affecting the different body systems; PMS, Infertility, Arthritis, Constipation, Blood pressure, Ulcers, Fluid retention, Sinusitis and poor circulation, to name just a few. We can also help with post-stroke and post-surgery recovery. We’ve also built a strong reputation for our success with Musculo-skeletal problems.
What kind of Musculo-skeletal problems can you help?
Muscular pain and stiffness, sports injuries, “slipped discs”, whiplash, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, sacro-iliac and hip problems, back pain. There’s a long list of joint and muscle problems and we treat them all! So if you’ve got any of the above, either as a result of trauma, or long-term “wear and tear”, try us before you settle for pain-killers and anti-inflammatories.
Do I have a choice of male or female therapist?
Yes, if you have a preference we will facilitate you.
Do I have to undress?
Treatments like Neurochi, Strain/counterstrain and Reflexology can be carried out while you are fully clothed. Our other bodywork treatments do require some degree of undress when therapeutic oils are being used and muscle tone is being evaluated.
Isn’t stress a major factor in many health problems?
Yes. It is a fact of modern life that most of us work, and live, with stress levels that are unhealthily high. Untreated, this can give rise to a range of unwelcome symptoms. These include nervous exhaustion, sleeplessness, memory loss, indecision and feelings of tension, irritability and impatience. On the physical side, stress can manifest itself as back pain and headache, digestive problems and nausea, and so on.
Can your treatments help?
Yes. Our treatments and practical advice can do much to re-balance your body’s systems and break the stress cycle of cause and effect. You really can relax and begin to enjoy life again!
